``So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.``

Acts 2:46-47 (NKJV)

WITH ONE ACCORD

gk: homothumadon
– To run together in unison, with one mind, one passion!

Throughout the Book of Acts the early church is described as being ‘with one accord’. The greek word, that Luke uses here, is homothumadon. It’s often translated as ‘together’, but it means so much more. It means to ‘run in unison, to have one mind, one passion’. Even more importantly, when the early church is seen ‘with one accord’, God responds and moves in power.

They were ‘with one accord’ at Pentecost, and the Holy Spirit fell (Acts 2:1-4).

They were ‘with one accord’ as they gathered throughout the week as a community, and they saw people saved on a daily basis (Acts 2:46-47).

They were ‘with one accord’ as they prayed and God gave them a fresh boldness to speak His Word (Acts 4:24-31).

They were ‘with one accord’  in the city and God drew people to them, from all across the region, and they saw the sick healed and the demon-possessed set free (Acts 5:12-15).

When God’s people run together in unison, with one mind, one passion… with one accord…

… God moves!

As we step into this new season, we need a move of God and we will see it as we go forward together ‘with one accord’.

We’ve spent a number of weeks talking about what being a ‘disciple’ looks like – now we’re going to talk about: what a church filled with disciples looks like.

The church we see is a church beyond sunday, without walls and on every street!

THIS YEAR, WE SEE A CHURCH THAT IS…

Sunday 11th April
BEYOND SUNDAY

BEYOND SUNDAY

The church is a community of communities, sharing life together throughout the week; praying, learning, growing in discipleship together – with one accord!
Sunday 18th April
WITHOUT WALLS

WITHOUT WALLS

The Church is a place where every person is welcome. All are invited to come follow Jesus and be His disciple. Together in Christ – running with one accord!
Sunday 25th April
ON EVERY STREET

ON EVERY STREET

It’s not about inviting our street to come to church but being the church in our street. We have been commissioned to go – so let’s go, with one accord.

OUR VISION OFFERING
25TH APRIL 2021

Our central vision as a church is to make disciples who make disciples, which means everything we do is done with a purpose to help people connect with Jesus, learn what He taught, live as He lived and be equipped to go and do what He commissioned us all to do.

Your giving and generosity helps make all this happen.

All giving will help resource our vision by providing the funds needed for us to meet the general running costs of C3 YRKS which includes the development of our ministries, the renting and equipping of facilities to gather weekly in Leeds (which includes our offices), York and eventually Harrogate as well as the cost of staffing.

This year we also hope to find a permanent place for our church in Leeds: a building that we can use to gather in weekly without the strain that comes with being a pop-up church. This will also serve York and Harrogate as a base of operations for the work we do across Yorkshire.

We will be sharing a summary of our finances from the past 12 months as well as a breakdown of expected costs for this new financial year at our ALL IN NIGHT on 21 April.

VISION GOAL: £75,000

Our goal is to increase our giving by an additional £75,000 this year through new tithes and a vision offering to which you can give a single or monthly gift.
OPTION 1: THE TITHE

Tithing is not an offering but a spiritual discipline that is spoken of throughout scripture. It’s also referred to as the ‘First Fruits’. Tithe simply means ‘tenth’ and the principle is that we bring the ‘first fruits’, a tenth of all our income and give it to God as part of our worship. (Proverbs 3:9-10, Malachi 3:10, Hebrews 7:4-8)

The Tithe is a key part of a disciple’s life. It recognises that all we have belongs to Jesus. As we bring him the first fruits, we honour and worship him above all else. (Luke 14:27-33)

OPTION 2: A ONE-OFF OFFERING

The Bible speaks of not just Tithes but also offerings. If the Tithe represents our obedience to God, our offerings represent our generosity to Him. If you are already tithing, this is your opportunity to bring a one-off offering above and beyond what you normally give with the sole purpose of blessing God’s house. (Malachi 3:10, Acts 4:32-35)

OPTION 3: A MONTHLY VISION OFFERING

A Monthly Vision Offering is a regular gift, in addition to your Tithe or any one-off offerings, specifically given for the purpose of helping us fund our vision.

This level of giving recognises the principle of the seed. In the same way that we sow seeds expecting a harvest, we can sow our money too. When we sow generously, God tells us to expect to see a harvest (2 Corinthians 9:6). Our vision is to see our churches filled with disciples making disciples. As we sow into our vision, let us sow in faith for God to move and propel His Church into our future.

OPTION 4: A PLEDGE

As an alternative to (or in combination with) a Monthly Vision Offering, you may wish to make a Pledge. This might be for various reasons but it is based on the knowledge that you will be able to give a one-off gift (or a number of gifts) at a certain time in the year.

We ask that pledges are only used by those who are confident they will be in a position to redeem their pledge, and fully committed to doing so, before the end of the financial year.

Pledges have been used in the past as an option to declare a ‘faith’ goal. However, we recommend you consider a monthly gift as a way of stretching your faith, rather than aiming for a ‘bigger’ figure in the future that may or may not be redeemed.
