Our vision as a church is to make disciples who make disciples which is underpinned by four key values: our hope is Jesus, our way is discipleship, our strength is in community and our mission is to love.
Our annual vision offering is an opportunity for everyone to be part of helping make this happen by strengthening the ‘stakes’ – the key areas we invest in as a church to ensure we continue to make disciples who make disciples.
Our goal is to raise an additional £50000 over the next 12 months that will helps us strengthen three key areas:
Mission covers our desire to see our cities and local communities impacted by the Gospel of Jesus through a number of different outreach opportunities, including through our YA ministry, our pioneering work in York and through encouraging local evangelism and one-to-one witness through our teaching and groups. There are also some significant developments worth highlighting:
EBOR GARDENS COMMUNITY CENTRE
Much of our community mission is organised through our partner charity Project Hope Leeds, which was birthed out of our church over 10 years ago and now helps and supports over 600 families every year. We are just in the final stages of helping the project negotiate with Leeds City Council to take over an old community centre in Burmantofts which will become the centre for all of Project Hope Leeds’ work. To help make this happen we will be moving the C3 YRKS offices to the centre so that what we currently pay in rent can be invested into the centre instead, covering the utility and general costs. The centre will also provide a fully equipped space to use and hire for mid-week events like our ONE NIGHTS, CREATIVE and YOUTH NIGHTS.
ONLINE MINISTRY
One of the biggest additions to our church over COVID was the introduction of our ONLINE service. Over the last 12 months our YouTube channel has been viewed over 9200 times, with 742 hours of content watched and our online services are regularly viewed between 60 and 100 times each week. We have also been able to connect with a number of people who regularly join us online each week. Some people still struggle to be in gatherings of people, others are at a distance that makes it difficult to travel to one of our services but love to engage with the teaching and worship. Recently, one of our online members got baptised in York and we often have new people attend services who ‘found us online’ first.
SPORTS CHAPLAINCY / FAITH IN FOOTBALL
In York we have seen God open some amazing doors into the football world which recently saw around 75 unchurched people attend an event we organised at York City FC to hear testimony from local football players and a growing schools outreach that is bringing the gospel through players’ testimonies to a number of York schools. We are continuing to work with York City FC, the national Sports Chaplaincy programme and F3Football (f3football.com) to reach more supporters of football for Jesus!
Our CORE represents the required infrastructure that helps us function as a church and stay focused on a discipleship strategy aimed at helping equip people to become better followers of Jesus. From our Sunday gatherings to our mid-week GROUP and ONE NIGHTS to our one-to-one discipleship and pastoral work. Everything we do as a church is aimed at helping make disciples who make disciples. But this does all come at a cost. Room hire, refreshments, storage and van hire, staffing and looking after our volunteers are just some of the costs behind everything we do. Our vision offering helps us aim to secure these costs in full for the next 12 months.
Strengthening ourselves financially as a church helps us protect and hopefully add to our current reserves. Our reserves provide financial security as a charity when it comes to unexpected and unforeseen costs or even crisis. They are also the seeds of future expansion and buildings for our locations.
On Tuesday 25th April we hosted our Annual Review on Zoom during which we will talked about how we are doing as a church financially and giving an insight into our budget for last year and for 2023-2024.

Tithing is not an offering but a spiritual discipline that is spoken of throughout scripture. It’s also referred to as the ‘First Fruits’. Tithe simply means ‘tenth’ and the principle is that we bring the ‘first fruits’, a tenth of all our income and give it to God as part of our worship. (Proverbs 3:9-10, Malachi 3:10, Hebrews 7:4-8)
The Tithe is a key part of a disciple’s life. It recognises that all we have belongs to Jesus. As we bring him the first fruits, we honour and worship him above all else. (Luke 14:27-33)
The Bible speaks of not just Tithes but also offerings. If the Tithe represents our obedience to God, our offerings represent our generosity to Him. If you are already tithing, this is your opportunity to bring a one-off offering above and beyond what you normally give with the sole purpose of blessing God’s house. (Malachi 3:10, Acts 4:32-35)
A Monthly Vision Offering is a regular gift, in addition to your Tithe or any one-off offerings, specifically given for the purpose of helping us fund our vision.
This level of giving recognises the principle of the seed. In the same way that we sow seeds expecting a harvest, we can sow our money too. When we sow generously, God tells us to expect to see a harvest (2 Corinthians 9:6). Our vision is to see our churches filled with disciples making disciples. As we sow into our vision, let us sow in faith for God to move and propel His Church into our future.
As an alternative to (or in combination with) a Monthly Vision Offering, you may wish to make a Pledge. This might be for various reasons but it is based on the knowledge that you will be able to give a one-off gift (or a number of gifts) at a certain time in the year.
We ask that pledges are only used by those who are confident they will be in a position to redeem their pledge, and fully committed to doing so, before the end of the financial year.
Pledges have been used in the past as an option to declare a ‘faith’ goal. However, we recommend you consider a monthly gift as a way of stretching your faith, rather than aiming for a ‘bigger’ figure in the future that may or may not be redeemed.
Please complete the form below and click SUBMIT to let us know your giving plans. This will be sent to our Finance Department and to Mary Tailby, the C3 YRKS Finance Administrator.
